Purchased from www.ministeam.com. This is a beautiful desktop version of a CO2 powered airplane V12 engine. This most probably the smallest V12 engine in the world. This engine is hand made in Europe. Only 100 of them will be made. G63V12 Bore 4.0mm, Stroke 5.0mm, Stroke Volume 12 x 62.80 mm3, Weight 108g This engine is absolutely beautiful to look at and watch run. Size: 2 1/5 inches wide X 5 1/2 inches long X 4 1/2 inches high Assembled Ready-To-Run. Made in Europe Carbon dioxide motors have been around for a long time. They are expansion engines which work rather like a steam engine. The tank receives a charge of CO2 which is liquid at ambient temperature at a vapor pressure of about 850 psi. this boils in the tank to supply gas to the motor. In the Gasparin the inlet valve is a steel ball sealing under gas pressure in a nylon (delrin type) seat while the piston carries a central peg which lifts the valve as it approaches top dead center. Exhaust is through a ring of ports uncovered by the piston towards the bottom of the stroke. Gasparins spun alloy tanks, silver-soldered pipe work, connectors and the filler valves are all beautifully designed. The motors use a floating O ring to seal the piston, which works well. They also have a flexible joint between the gas supply pipe and the cylinder head. This seals in a silicon material and the feature is important because it allows the cylinder barrel to be screwed up and down on its threaded base in the crankcase. This ...

A safety film produced by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1955 that discusses fighting fires on locomotives and teaches railroad employees about the type of fires they are likely to face and the equipment that is available to fight the fires. PRR diesel & electric locomotives feature throughout the film including some interesting trackside and in cab film of trains on fire. Many different locomotives of the PRR are seen including GG1's. The Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) was an American Class I railroad, founded in 1846. Commonly referred to as the "Pennsy", the PRR was headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The PRR was the largest railroad by traffic and revenue in the US throughout the first two-thirds of the twentieth century and was at one time the largest publicly traded corporation in the world. At its peak, it controlled about 10000 miles (16000 km) of rail line; in the 1920s it carried about three times the traffic (measured by ton-miles of freight) as other railroads of comparable length, such as Union Pacific or Santa Fe. The only rival was New York Central, which carried around three-quarters of PRR's ton-miles.

Take a look at Tim Dickinson's wonderful HO Scale Burlington Northern empire as we follow a grain train, with manned helpers, over the mountain and through numerous yards and staging tracks. While the video shows an overall view of the layout, it's difficult to get appreciation for the quality level of this railroad without actually seeing it in person.
