Comment: This is a very nice set of earrings for a reasonable price. (I paid $39.99.) My ears are double pierced, and the 3mm pair are the perfect size to compliment larger earrings.

I was also pleased to see that although the earrings appear to have a matte finish in the photo, they are bright and shiny, like the gold ball earrings Amazon sells separately.

Also, my skin can be very sensitive, but with the gold posts and backings, these earrings do not bother my skin at all.

Regarding one reviewer's comment that because these earrings caused a rash in her daughter's ears, they're probably not real gold: It IS possible for real gold to cause a rash. Because 14K gold is not as pure as 18K or 24K gold, and the other metals mixed in with the gold vary from product to product, a person can be allergic to one 14K gold item but not others--while that same item doesn't bother others. (I say this from experience!)

Overall, this is a very nice set of earrings for a price that is hard to beat. I am happy with them.

Comment: I have bought several pairs of 14 kt gold ball earrings here at Amazon for myself and my daughters and have been happy with the quality. Thin posts and backs that really "catch" are important to me, to decrease the inevitable "Mom, I lost a back again" and "Mom, I lost a post again" comments.

I was really happy to see this set because it represents a per-pair savings and so I figured we'd give it a try, even though we only had ever worn the 4mm and 5mm gold ball sizes. The 3mm balls are quite small -- they are accurately represented in the picture -- but one of my girls actually liked them better than the 5mm.

My girls and I need dependable earrings because of a hereditary skin condition known as keloids. (Those of you who have it know what a struggle it can be to keep the body's normal scarring process from going into overdrive.) For that reason, we are always on the lookout for earrings with 14 kt gold posts, and preferably 14 kt backs. We wear them at night after taking out our daytime earrings, as well as on some days when one or both lobes may be a bit irritated.

So far, we've been very happy with this set. One of the features we like best is that the posts are relatively short, so we are able to sleep in these with no problem. That may be a drawback to some. Ditto for the thinness of the post, although for us it is a positive.

Comment: I bought these for my infant daughter. She had her ears pierced six months ago. I was trying these earrings to replace the ones used for the piercing. After one wear my daughter's ears had an ugly rash behind them. I removed these earrings and I am now treating the rash. I will not use these again. I know my daughter is not allergic to real gold because she has worn real gold earrings before. Something is not right about these "gold" earrings.
